Sectors of use of cast parts in spheroidal graphite iron (GJS), austempered ductile iron (ADI) and isothermal ductile iron (IDI)
From industry and railways, through the construction, mining, agriculture and energy sectors, to off-highway vehicles and on-road and off-road transport, Zanardi Fonderie’s ductile iron castings (GJS), austempered spheroidal graphite cast iron (ADI) and isothermal spheroidal graphite cast iron (IDI) from Zanardi Fonderie are manufactured according to co-design projects capable of meeting every requirement.
Railway sector
We serve the railway sector with our cast parts in spheroidal graphite iron (GJS) and austempered ductile iron (ADI), in particular for the construction of railroad cars (barber bogies), braking systems and railroad switches.
Construction and mining sector
The construction and mining sector is divided into sub-categories such as earth moving, construction, mining and demolition. For the earth moving and construction sectors, we supply parts in spheroidal graphite iron and austempered ductile iron (ADI) for undercarriages and axles of cranes and mixer wagons. For the mining and demolition sectors, our castings are used in breaker hammers and hydraulic pumps.
Industrial,
hydraulic and oleodynamic sector
We produce cast parts in spheroidal graphite iron (GJS) and austempered ductile iron (ADI) for a variety of applications in the industrial sector, such as planetary gear reducers and worm gear reducers; transmission systems; hydraulic distributors; blowers for PET bottles; hydraulic, combustion and fluid power motors; hydraulic and fluid power pumps; forklifts; compressors and recycling systems.
For hydraulic distributors and hydraulic and fluid power pumps, we also produce castings in isothermal ductile iron (IDI).
Agricultural sector
For the agricultural sector, we produce our cast parts in spheroidal graphite iron (GJS) and austempered ductile iron (ADI) for combine harvesters and tractors, for transmission, towing and lifting systems.
Energy sector
Our cast parts in spheroidal graphite iron (GJS), austempered ductile iron (ADI) and isothermal ductile iron (IDI) are used in the wind power sector, mainly for the production of planetary gear reducers.
Forestry sector
We supply castings in spheroidal graphite iron (GJS) and austempered ductile iron (ADI) also for the forestry sector. In recent years we have also begun to manufacture cast parts for delimber heads used to log trees for the production of wood.
Off-highway and off-road vehicles sector
Our castings in ductile iron (GJS), austempered ductile iron (ADI) and isothermal ductile iron (IDI) are in high demand for the manufacture of components for front and rear axles and suspension systems in the off-highway and off-road vehicle sectors. This includes all construction machinery and special-purpose vehicles, such as dump trucks for mines or quarries, emergency vehicles and modular self-propelled heavy-duty vehicles
On-highway and on-road vehicles sector
When it comes to on-highway, on-road and automotive transport, our ductile iron (GJS) and austempered ductile iron (ADI) castings can be used for components in rear axles, suspension systems and braking systems for buses, commercial and industrial vehicles, passenger cars and supercars.
