How to take advantage of calculation models to obtain GJS and ADI customized products
From 1 to 5 September, the Euromat, the international congress in the field of materials science and technology, takes place in Stockholm.
On September 5, Franco Zanardi – Zanardi Fonderie’s honorary president – is presenting a paper dedicated to the use of innovative materials in engineering applications. The title of the paper is “Reclassification of Spheroidal Graphite Ferritic Pearl and Ausferritic Austempered Ductile Cast Irons Grades according to Design Needs” and the presentation is scheduled from 5.30pm to 5.50pm at the “Symposium B9: Advanced Cast Irons”, which takes place inside the “Structural materials area”.
“To promote the diffusion of innovative materials in engineering applications – says Franco Zanardi – it is necessary to create a link between materials science and the characterization of engineering properties by taking advantage of calculation models, which typically refer to continuum mechanics“.
In the field of spheroidal graphite iron (GJS) and austempered ductile iron (ADI), Zanardi Fonderie carefully checks the results of the engineering calculations that emerge to the designer, in correspondence with different triaxiality of the stress state and in the presence of severe notches.
